YouTuber Frits Mulder took on the challenge of recreating a section of World of Warcraft using Unreal Engine 5. Mulder decided to focus on Westfall, a fiefdom of the Kingdom of Stormwind that has been a part of the game since its debut in 2004. Despite having no prior experience with 3D rendering software, Mulder embarked on a three-month development journey to bring his vision to life.
In addition to Westfall, Mulder also recreated various World of Warcraft mobs as part of his project. The result of his efforts was showcased in a well-received YouTube video, which highlighted the stunning visuals, lack of pop-in, and realistic water effects of the recreation.
This fan project serves as a testament to the capabilities of the Unreal Engine 5 and offers a glimpse into the potential graphics of future games. Since its launch in April 2022, Unreal Engine 5 has gained popularity and has already been adopted by numerous upcoming titles across different genres.
